Michael G. Gardullo, 89, Jersey City, NJ, passed on May 13, 2018. Born to Letizia and John Gardullo, he married Marilyn Uffer 65 years ago. They have six children: Mari, Joan, Michael, John, Jean and Paul; ten grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and two great-great granddaughters.
Michael served in the US Naval Reserve. During his career in Education he was a teacher, administrator and Superintendent of Schools in Oradell and Hillsdale. He was also Past President of Bergen County Superintendents Assn. Michael coached sport teams at various schools and was a referee in Little League Football as well as principal in Sunday School at St. Catherine’s in Spring Lake, NJ.
Michael camped the USA with his wife and children for 25 years. After his retirement from Hillsdale School, he and his wife traveled extensively to countries in Europe, Africa, South America and India. Together with his wife they researched their ancestors for fifteen years and wrote a book about their combined families, “Walking in Their Footsteps.” They lived in Ringwood for thirty five years before moving back to Jersey City.
A visitation for Michael will be held on Thursday, May 17, 2018, and on Friday, May 18, 2018, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Michaels funeral will begin on Saturday, May 19, 2018, 9:00 AM at the Funeral Home(for GPS use 16 Stagg Street, Jersey City, NJ 07306), 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Czestochwa Church, 120 Sussex St, Jersey City, NJ 07302. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
