Michael Scarpa, Jr. Obituary

Michael L. Scarpa, Jr., 59 of Bayonne, entered into eternal life on October 24, 2020 after a battle with COVID 19.   Born in Jersey City, he lived there most of his life until moving to Bayonne in 1994. He was a proud graduate of Hudson Catholic High School, Class of 1979, and remained an active member of the Alumni Association.

Mike was American & Military history buff.  He has worked in the Automobile business most of his adult life, at first as a mechanic but quickly becoming a Service Director.  A position he held at many dealerships and most recently for Parkway Toyota in Englewood Cliffs.   Mike enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, he loved boating, in the 1990’s he was involved in professional off shore racing and today enjoyed hanging out on his boat at Robins’ Reef Yacht Club in Bayonne.  He also loved cars, especially working on his Pontiac Grand Prix.

To his sons and his wife he was everything, the man who could light up the room with just his presence. His following, his imprint and his inspiration was seen and heard by many.  “Dad, you are loved, you will always be loved and most importantly, never forgotten.  You had a purpose in this world and it will go on through your family, your pride and joy. Until we meet again, we love you.” – Kathy, Michael & Anthony.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Michael L. Scarpa & Catherine “Kay” Peccora.

He is the beloved husband of Kathy (nee: Lisi), cherished father of Michael & Anthony, loving brother of Sylvia Rosato, Roseann Scarpa-Fuccilli & Louis Scarpa, dear uncle of Robert Rosato, Alicia Rosato, Alfredo Fuccilli & Michael Fuccilli.  He is also survived by his in-laws, Cynthia & Paul Lisi & Maryann Thatcher & her husband Jack.
