Michael M. Viola

Michael M. Viola, 90, a lifelong resident of Jersey City, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, September 20, 2019.

Michael was a supervisor for 27 years with Con Edison in Staten Island, NY before retiring.  He was also a truck driver for Hudson Supply Co. in Jersey City.

Michael enjoyed gardening, fishing in the Poconos and spending time with family.  Michael would often contribute to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and was also a devout parishioner of St. Paul of the Cross Church, Jersey City.

Michael was the beloved husband of 67 years to Dorothy (nee Knapp); devoted father of Jill & Anthony De Angelis, Michael & Marion Viola, Steven & Lisa Viola; loving grandfather of Cara and Alyssa De Angelis, Erica, Ashley, Michael, Jessica and Anthony Viola; dear brother of Carol, Margaret and the late Anthony and Victor.  Michael was loved and will be dearly missed by his many relatives and friends.

Visitation is on Tuesday, September 24, 2019, 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at RIOTTO FUNERAL HOME & Cremation Company, 3205 John F. Kennedy Blvd., Jersey City, NJ 07306 (For GPS Navigation it is best to use the parking lot entrance address: 14 Stagg St., Jersey City).  Funeral will begin on Wednesday, September 25, 2019, 9:00 AM at the funeral home.  Funeral Mass will follow 10:00 AM at St. Paul of the Cross Church, Jersey City.  Interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington.  Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (www.stjude.org)
