Michelina Hunt “Che-Che”, 82 of Bayonne, formerly of downtown Jersey City, entered into eternal rest on December 1, 2022 at Bayonne Medical Center. Born August 9, 1940, in New York City, to the late Dominic Iorio & Raffaele Colasurdo, she lived most of her life in Jersey City before moving to Bayonne 5 years ago. She was a retired clerk from Christ Hospital, Jersey City. Most of her life was centered around her family and her church. Michelina was a devout member of Holy Rosary Church, downtown Jersey City. There she was an active Rosarian and cherished member of the parish feast committee usually working in the café serving coffee and cakes. She always enjoyed decorating and cleaning the church for Christmas & Easter. It was a joy for her to spend time with her friends, placing flowers, sharing laughs and memories in the church she loved so much, and which was filled with so many wonderful memories.
She is the cherished mother of: Laura Hunt, Lynne Hunt, Frankie and his wife, Jeannie, Michele Hunt, Maria Ann Hunt, the late David Michael & his wife, Maria Hunt. Proud and loving grandmother of: Gina DeSalvo-Assuncao, Matthew Hunt, Phillip Shailer, Jake Shailer, Cristina Hunt, Stephan Hunt, Ray Diaz, Michaela Diaz, Sara Hunt, great-grandchildren; Cristiano Assuncao, Adriano Assuncao, Anna Lynne Shailer & David Hunt.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 4, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. through 6:00 p.m. at the Riotto Funeral Home, 14 Stagg Street, Jersey City. Relatives and Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Monday morning, gathering at 10:00 a.m. at the Funeral Home, thence to Holy Rosary Church, 344 Sixth St., Jersey City, NJ for a Funeral Mass to begin at 11:00 a.m. Cremation will take place privately.
