Miguel A. Arias entered eternal rest on May 11, 2023. Born in Colombia in 1935, Miguel was a small-town boy living alongside his brother Carlos Arias and his mother Lucila Arias. In the fall of 1959, Miguel immigrated to the United States and started working as an elevator operator at NY Presbyterian Hospital in NYC. In 1964 Miguel married his wife of 59 years Graciela Gonzalez de Arias and later had three children together named Ercilia, Jerman and Jose. In 1971 the family moved back to Colombia and raised their children there until 1978 when they came back to the states for a better life. One fact about Miguel is that whenever he would hang out with his children, he would always give them life advice as it mattered to them. Throughout Miguel's later years he would eventually help raise his young grandson Anthony while his mother Ercilia was out working during the day.
Throughout his lifetime Miguel lived the American dream. He was always there if you needed help around the house, even after 25 years retired, he would always go out of his way to lend a helping hand. Miguel is survived by his wife Graciela, his children Ercilia, Jerman and Jose and his young grandson Anthony. We will miss him terribly.
