Miriam Molina

Miriam Molina, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 18, 2026.

Born on June 13, 1967 in Jersey City, New Jersey, Miriam was the daughter of the late Victor Molina, Sr. and Gloria Alvarado. She was born and raised in Jersey City; a place she was proud to call home for much of her life. She carried a deep connection to the city that shaped her, creating countless memories and building a life surrounded by the people and places she loved. Later in life, she continued her journey in Kearny before eventually making her home in Bayonne.

Miriam fearlessly embraced every opportunity to grow and better herself. Throughout her life, she earned numerous certifications, including those of a nursing assistant and teaching assistant. Her determination, adaptability, and commitment to learning eventually led her to build a successful and fulfilling career in accounting. She was a devoted and hardworking woman who continually rose above every challenge placed before her.

Miriam lived with an open heart and a generous spirit. She believed that one of the quickest ways to someone’s heart was through home-cooked meals. Her kitchen was more than a place to prepare food. It was a place where love was shared, laughter was abundant, and everyone, whether family, friend, or stranger, was made to feel welcome.

She had a beautiful gift for bringing joy wherever she went. Miriam loved dancing, listening to music, and celebrating life with the people she loved. She could light up any room simply by being herself. Her wonderful sense of humor and infectious laugh could lift even the heaviest of hearts. She was truly the life of the party and created memories that her loved ones will treasure forever.

At her core, Miriam was deeply compassionate and fiercely devoted to her family. She gave of herself freely, always offering comfort, encouragement, and unconditional love. Some of her greatest joys were found in life’s quieter moments, watching television, spending time surrounded by her family, and caring for her beloved cats, Rex and Onyx.

Miriam embraced life with curiosity and a sense of adventure. She rarely turned down an opportunity for a road trip, a new experience, or the chance to create another unforgettable memory. She also possessed a remarkable artistic talent and created beautiful drawings that reflected her creativity, patience, and unique way of seeing the world.

Her love extended beyond people to every animal she encountered, reflecting the gentle and nurturing heart that defined her. Her kindness, laughter, generosity, and unwavering love touched countless lives.

Miriam was strong-willed and steadfast in her convictions, yet everything she did came from a place of love and good intentions. She faced life’s challenges with optimism, drawing strength from her deep faith, wisdom, and trust in her inner guidance. She met adversity with remarkable bravery, resilience, and courage, inspiring those around her through her determination and unwavering spirit.

Miriam leaves behind her loving daughters, Jessica Lewis and Brenda Freytas; her cherished grandchildren, Jahlinda Lewis, Talisha Lewis, and Michael Lewis, Jr.; her siblings, Victor Molina, Jr., Alberto Molina, and Tanya Molina; her daughter-in-law, Lioniemar Reyes; her son-in-law, Michael Lewis, Sr.; and any other loving relatives and dear friends. She was predeceased by her beloved parents, Victor Molina, Sr. and Gloria Alvarado.

Visitation is Friday, July 24, 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Riotto Funeral Home & Cremation Company, 3205 John F. Kennedy Blvd., Jersey City, NJ, 07306 (For GPS it is best to use our parking lot address: 14 Stagg St., additional parking lot located on Kennedy Blvd.).  Interment will follow at Holy Name Cemetery, 823 West Side Ave. Jersey City, NJ 07306.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Miriam by doing something she loved. Share a meal with someone you care about, tell someone you love them, dance to your favorite song, or create a new memory with the people who matter most. Her greatest gift was the love she gave to others, and her family hopes that love will continue through each of us.

May Miriam’s memory live on in the laughter that fills our homes, the meals shared around our tables, the kindness we extend to others, and the stories we tell for generations to come. For a soul who gave so much love, her light will never truly fade.
