Noel Moriah Morel — lovingly known to her family as “Our Little Pikachu” — entered this world on July 25, 2025, in Hackensack, New Jersey, and spent 26 unforgettable hours surrounded by the love, worship, and prayers of her parents and family before resting peacefully on July 26, 2025.
She was the beloved daughter of Ariel and Jan Patricia Morel, and cherished little sister to Emelia. Noel is also survived by her grandparents Amalfi Morel and Nicolas Morel (paternal), and Pastor Dario (maternal). She was welcomed into heaven by her grandmother Josefa Aspillera Dario (“Lola”).
Although Noel’s time with us was brief, her life carried a weight and a beauty that words can hardly capture. From the very moment she arrived, there was a tangible peace surrounding her — a peace that could only come from the presence of God. She entered this world already facing more than most people will in a lifetime, yet she carried herself with a quiet strength and an unexplainable calm.
In her parents’ arms she never appeared afraid or distressed; she seemed fully settled, as if God had entrusted her to them for a holy moment and she knew it. Even while her little body was battling, it felt as though she held on just long enough to bless her family — to let them pour out every ounce of love they had, and to remind them that God never left them in this journey. Those 26 hours were sacred. They were filled with worship, tears, singing, prayer, joy, and love — moments that will never be forgotten. Noel reminded all who met her that life, no matter how brief, carries purpose and eternal significance. She taught us that even the smallest life can reveal the greatest love, and that God truly meets His children in the most tender places.
A memorial service to honor Noel’s life will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM at Riotto Funeral Home & Cremation Company 3205 John F. Kennedy Blvd. Jersey City, New Jersey. (For GPS Navigation, it is best to use our parking lot address: 14 Stagg Street).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Noel’s memory to The Tears Foundation (https://thetearsfoundation.org/), Kaden’s Cause (https://www.kadenscause.org/), Emma’s Footprints (https://www.emmasfootprints.com/), The Rhett Sullivan Foundation (https://rhettsullivan.org/), or Freedom Church JC (https://www.myfreedomjc.org/) — all of whom walked alongside our family during this journey.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Alecia Thompson-Branch and the entire team entrusted with their care at Hackensack University Medical Center – Donna A. Sanzari Women’s Hospital (Antepartum, Operating Room, and NICU); Samantha Santry (Child Life Specialist), who lovingly helped Emelia understand and process what was happening; Riotto Funeral Home; Emma’s Footprints; The Rhett Sullivan Foundation; Kaden’s Cause; The Tears Foundation; Freedom Church JC; the Morel-Rodriguez, Cordova, Torres, Moleski, Reel, Robinson, Lucier, Rawls, Knowles, Perez, Melendez, Smith, Talley, Morales, Sanchez, and Arquero families; and their Swatch Group family — especially Peter Foster, Suzete Truehaft, Zulay Fiallos-Amelung, and Edalina Perez-Llaudy — for their unwavering care and support during this time; and to all of their extended family and friends for their continued love and prayers.
From the moment she was knit together in the womb to the moment she rested in our arms, Noel Moriah carried the presence of God. Her name declares it — God met us, and His promises are true. Though our hearts ache, we move forward remembering her story and carrying it as a testimony of God’s faithfulness, until the day we see her again in eternity.
The family kindly asks that everyone wear white and/or ivory to the service—colors that reflect the purity, peace, and joy of Noel’s life and the love that surrounded her every moment she was here.
