Oremilla Devi Mannie, passed away on January 9, 2025, at Jersey City Medical Center, surrounded by her devoted family. She was 76 years old.
Born on May 13, 1948, in Port Mourant, Guyana, Oremilla was the cherished daughter of Gopi and Rajpati Kanhai. She immigrated to the United States on August 8, 1968, and made Jersey City her home for the past 53 years.
Oremilla was a hardworking and compassionate woman whose loving and caring nature touched everyone who knew her. She found joy in gardening, solving word search puzzles, and cheering for her favorite team, the New York Yankees. Her kindness, thoughtfulness, and generosity will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Oremilla is survived by her beloved husband of 53 years, Mannie; her daughters, Jennifer Budhan and her husband Nick, and Anita Mannie; her adored grandson, Sean; and her dear sister, Doris. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family who loved her deeply. Oremilla is reunited in eternal rest with her siblings Betty, Tarzan, Dado, Dolly, Kumarie, Seelall, and two others who preceded her in passing.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Riotto Funeral Home (For GPS, please use the parking lot address: 14 Stagg Street, Jersey City, NJ 07306). Funeral services will follow on Thursday, January 16, 2025, beginning at 9:00 AM at the funeral home, with a Mass at 10:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Church in Jersey City. Interment will take place at Holy Name Cemetery in Jersey City.

Oremilla was a giving and loving person who will be greatly missed by all her family and friends, especially her husband, daughters, and grandson.
