Osvaldo "Wally" Claudio

Osvaldo "Wally" Claudio, 63, of Jersey City; entered into eternal rest on Saturday, October 14, 2023.  Osvaldo was a beloved father of Osvaldo Jr. and Kimberly Claudio; dear ex-spouse of Yvette Claudio; adored grandfather of Faith and Leniya; a beloved son of Carmen and the late, Augusto; treasured brother of Augusto; and survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.   

Wally was a beloved teacher of Jersey City Public Schools #26 and #31, and adored by his students and their families, his co-workers, fellow coaches, and those he mentored.  He was a cyclist, and his goal was to make it to 100 bike tours.  Osvaldo enjoyed coaching baseball, football, and the New Jersey Special Olympics.  He took pride in mentoring sobriety for nineteen years mostly in Jersey City, and also taking care of his home.      

Visitation is  Friday, October 20, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Riotto Funeral Home & Cremation Company, 3205 Kennedy Blvd., Jersey City. (For GPS navigation, it is best to use our parking lot: 14 Stagg Street).  Funeral is Saturday, October 21, 2023 from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM at the funeral home.  Funeral mass is at 10:30 AM at St. Nicholas' Church, 144 Ferry Street, Jersey City.  Interment will follow at Holy Name Cemetery, 823 West Side Ave., Jersey City.
