Pietro DeCandia, 87, of Jersey City, passed away on Monday, August 30, 2021.
Pietro was born in Molfetta (Bari), Italy, where he lived before moving to Hoboken, NJ at the age of 12. Pietro later met his beloved wife Margherita who he married in 1958. Five years later Pietro and Margherita moved to Jersey City, NJ where together they raised their loving family.
Pietro was a devout member of the Madonna dei Martiri Society of Hoboken. He was a dedicated family man, loved the holidays and cooking, dancing, telling jokes, and enjoying his life and getaways to Florida.
Pietro is survived by his beloved wife: Margherita. His loving children: Eleanor Noel and her husband, Bruce; Mark DeCandia and his wife Leslie; Frank DeCandia, Robert DeCandia; Madeline Brennan and her late husband John; and Peter DeCandia and his wife Michelle. His cherished grandchildren: Evan and his wife Erin, Laura and her husband Stephen, Andrea, Brittany and her husband Thomas, Hayley, Skye, Anthony, Parker, and Allie.
Visitation is Thursday, September 2, 2021, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the funeral home (For GPS, please use our parking lot address: 14 Stagg Street, Jersey City). Funeral services are Friday, September 3, 2021, 9:00 AM at the funeral home, followed by a 10:00 AM mass at St. Paul of the Cross Church, Jersey City. Entombment will follow at Madonna Mausoleum, Fort Lee.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the family is requesting that face masks are worn by those in attendance.
