Ralph Colasurdo Obituary

Ralph A. Colasurdo

January 24, 1957 – July 1, 2025

Ralph A. Colasurdo, 68, of Jersey City, passed away on July 1, 2025 at his home. Born on January 24, 1957, in Jersey City, Ralph was a lifelong resident and a proud member of the community he cherished so deeply.

Ralph was the beloved husband of Jane Colasurdo (née Manzo), and the devoted father of Jillian Colasurdo. He was the cherished son of the late Ralph and Filomena Colasurdo (née Strocchio), and the dear brother of the late Anthony “Tony” Colasurdo. Ralph also mourned the passing of his brother-in-law, Joseph DeTullio, Sr.

He is also survived by his loving nephews: Anthony, Nicholas, and Christopher Colasurdo, as well as Joseph DeTullio, Jr. He will be dearly missed by his sister-in-laws Pam Colasurdo & Dee DeTullio, his brother-in-law Nicholas Manzo, and numerous cousins.  Certainly, his furry friends, Ricky & Lucy will miss him as well.

Ralph attended Jersey City State College and pursued a 40-year long career with the Jersey City Board of Education, as a maintenance worker for McNair Academic High School. Though he had a quiet demeanor, he was known for his unwavering devotion to his family and community. He faithfully attended 9:00 a.m. Mass every Sunday at Holy Rosary Church, where he found strength and peace in his Catholic faith.  He served as an usher and was always the last one to leave the church because he made his rounds to some devoted saints to offer prayers and light candles.

A true sports enthusiast, Ralph was an avid New York Rangers and New York Yankees fan and found joy in weekends at the Meadowlands and Monmouth Park race tracks.

Ralph lived his life with generosity and compassion. He found purpose in helping others and never hesitated to lend a hand or offer guidance. His legacy is one of love, loyalty, and faith.
