With love, respect, and profound sadness, we announce the passing of Ramonita Delgado on June 25, 2025, at the age of 69.
Ramonita was the beloved daughter of the late Ramon Delgado and Maria Lopez Delgado. She was a devoted mother to Dionisio Garcia and his wife Joanna Gonzalez, and a proud grandmother to Nero, Ramon, and Mackenzie Garcia. She is also survived by her loving siblings: Hector Delgado and his wife Lydia, Raymond Delgado and his wife Marta, and Josefa Delgado, along with many nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends who will continue to carry her memory forward. She was predeceased by her dear sister Isabel Suarez.
A survivor of the 9/11 attacks, Ramonita exemplified quiet strength and resilience. She went on to work for many years at AIG, where she was admired for her dedication and work ethic. Yet, her truest legacy was the life she built at home, with a family that meant everything to her.
She found her greatest joy in gathering her loved ones around the table. Sundays were sacred, filled with home-cooked meals, laughter, and her famous rum cakes. She had a love for dancing, a passion for travel, and a giving spirit that showed in her unwavering support of charitable causes. Ramonita lived with purpose, loved deeply, and gave generously, always putting others before herself.
She will be remembered for her warmth, humility, and the way she made everyone feel welcome. Her presence was a gift, and her absence will be felt by all who knew her.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Riotto Funeral Home, Jersey City. (For GPS, please use our parking lot address: 14 Stagg Street, Jersey City, NJ 07306.)
