Raul Robles Obituary

Raul Robles born on January 1949 in Cidra, Puerto Rico. Raul Robles was the beloved son of Maria Urbina Bermudez and Juan Pedro Robles. In 1957, Raul moved with his parents and siblings to Jersey City, New Jersey—a place he would proudly call home for more than four decades.

He began his education at P.S. 37 and later graduated from Ferris High School, laying the foundation for a lifetime of hard work and perseverance. Raul built a long and successful career, working for Bell Atlantic for many years, followed by Best Foods Mueller until his retirement in January 1998.

After retirement, Raul returned to his roots in Puerto Rico, where he spent his golden years enjoying a slower pace of life. He took great pleasure in playing dominoes with friends, tending to his roosters, and most importantly, spending his retirement years side by side with the love of his life.

In 1967, Raul married Carmen "Lila" Robles, and together they shared over five decades of unconditional love, partnership, and devotion. They raised four children who were the pride of his life.

Raul was a man of warmth, laughter, and deep love for his family. He was known for his great sense of humor and a contagious laugh that could light up any room. He was the life of the party at every family gathering always smiling, always dancing, and always surrounded by those who loved him. A true music lover, he enjoyed all genres, especially merengue, bachata, and classic oldies.

Nothing brought Raul more joy than his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The love he had for each of them was evident in every smile, every laugh, and every proud glance. He was affectionately known as "Uncle Archie" by his nieces and nephews, who adored his humor, energy, and generous spirit.

Raul passed away peacefully on June 19, 2025. He is survived by his devoted wife, Carmen "Lila" Robles; his children: Lissette Garced (Jose), Yvette Harrigan (Dennis), Jadyn Mesa (Richard), and Raul Robles Jr. (Bethsaida); his grandchildren: Desiree Garced, Eriberto Garced, Erilize Garced, Dennis "DJ" Harrigan, Elizabeth Harrigan, Jonathan Robles, Ashley Ortiz, Chelsea Mesa, Richard Mesa, and Christopher Mesa; and his beloved great-grandchildren: Adriana Gonzalez, Gregori Gonzalez, Kayla Gonzalez, and Karleigh Harrigan. He is also survived by his cherished sister, Isabel Rodriguez his loving uncle Angel Robles and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, Maria Urbina Bermudez and Juan Pedro Robles as well as his siblings: Johnny Robles, German Robles, Aurea Robles, and Maria Ramos.

There was never a need to ask Raul what his greatest accomplishments were-it was clear to anyone who knew him that his pride and joy were his children and grandchildren. His love for his family was profound, and his presence left a lasting impact on everyone he met. Raul's absence leaves a deep void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He will be remembered always for his kindness, his humor, his deep love for music and family, and the joy he brought into every room.
