"Butchie" Raymond Leo Stafford, Jr., 75, of Jersey City was called home on Tuesday, April 20, 2021.
“You never said I’m leaving,
you never said goodbye.
You were gone before we knew it,
And only GOD knew why.
A million times we needed you,
A million times we cried.
If love alone could save you,
You never would have died.
In life we loved you dearly,
In death we love you still.
In our hearts you hold a place
That no one else could fill
It breaks our heart to lose you,
But you didn’t go alone.
Part of us went with you,
they day GOD took you home.
Raymond was predeceased by his loving wife, Bertha, in 2019. Surviving are his beloved children: Doreen Rose - Park and her spouse Dawn, Raymond Stafford, III, and his spouse Danielle, and Dineen Szumera and her husband Steven. Also surviving are 7 beloved grandchildren, and 1 cherished great grandchild.
Funeral services are on Thursday, April 21, 2021, 11:00 AM at Evergreen Crematory (301 Dayton St., Newark, NJ). There are no services taking place at the funeral home.
