Rev. Jorge Wayne Sanchez, 90, entered into eternal rest on January 9, 2022.
Rev. Wayne was born in Brooklyn, New York, raised in a Christian home in the Bronx, New York, and lived there from birth to manhood. He attended Elementary School, High School and Ministry School in New York City.
God called him to the Ministry in 1951. After completing Ministry School and being certified for Ministry, he was ordained in 1956. When he became an Evangelist, he traveled and preached in many churches throughout the entire East Coast. During this period, he became Director of a radio program on WOV called the Victory Hour. On another program, during the week, he read poems and played music.
In 1957, Rev. Wayne became involved in a Christian Drug Program, called the Christian Crusade in the Bronx, New York, with Rev. Robert & Leo Rosado. He worked with them for six years winning many gang members, drug addicts and delinquents to the Lord. These souls were changed for the Glory of God and this became Rev. Wayne’s calling for the Lord. They became good citizens; some preachers, business men, pastors and teachers and are still serving the Lord today.
In ‘1959' Rev. Wayne married and traveled across the country preaching the Gospel of salvation, deliverance and healing. God used him to draw many souls for His Kingdom and many miracles took place. The Lord opened the eyes of the blind and healed the sick and crippled.
After traveling across America, God called Rev. Wayne to New Jersey in 1967. He then became Founder and Director of the Youth Revival Center in downtown Jersey City, New Jersey, where he again helped with delinquent youths and drug addicts.
Also, during ‘1967', Rev. Wayne had open air Crusades in New York City; and, in Jersey City, New Jersey, where he had three open air crusades. He recruited people from Mexico and New York City to assist.
In ‘1980' Rev. Wayne became Pastor and Founder of the International Revival Tabernacle located in downtown Jersey City, New Jersey, for 20 years. During this time, God delivered many souls and raised up ministers and missionaries for his service.
Rev. Wayne gladly and willingly served the Lord for over fifty years with numerous testimonies.
He continued to Pastor and Evangelize, until, on January 9, 2022, God called him home and he heard the words “Well done my good and faithful Servant”.
