Rosa Julia Ramirez

Rosa Julia Ramirez, 88, of ​New Jersey, formerly of Guanica, Puerto Rico passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 19, 2020.  Rosa enjoyed her retirement in the company of family and friends.  She loved to cook and was well known for her pasteles, coquito, arroz con dulce among many other delicacies.  As the matriarch, her home was the center of many holidays and family gatherings.  Each summer she and her family enjoyed days at the lake, a BBQ at home or a trip home to Puerto Rico.  She was admired and loved by co-workers, friends, neighbors and family.

Rosa is survived by her children Luz Ramirez Hernandez, Paul Ramirez, Pascual Ramirez and Marisol Ramirez, her grandchildren Mayra Ramirez Twal and her spouse Murad and their children Matthew and Avery, Carlos Ramirez and his spouse Melissa and their daughter Ariela, Rosa A. Morales, Lisandra I. Morales, Blanca Gomez and her fiance Fernando Zumaran and her children Kenny and Allen,  Anabelle Montano and her spouse Jose and their children Eric and Brianna and Evelyn Rivera and her spouse Gadiel and their children Amy & Jacob in addition to her siblings, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.  Rosa is predeceased in life by her husband Pascual Ramirez, her parents, Mariano Hernandez Laporte and Benita Rodriguez, her children Carlos Ramirez and Eva Martinez and nephew Gilberto Hernandez.

Visitation is on Sunday, July 26, 2020, 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at RIOTTO FUNERAL HOME & Cremation Company, 3205 John F. Kennedy Blvd., Jersey City, NJ 07306.  Funeral will begin on Monday, July 27, 2020, 10:00 AM at the funeral home.  Funeral Mass will follow 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 99 Broadway, Jersey City, NJ 07306.  Cremation is private
