Rose Franchini, 101, of Jersey City, passed away on Monday, September 28, 2020. Rose was born on March 20, 1919 to the late, Achille and Jennie Franchini. Rose graduated from Dickinson High School where she took an avid interest in fashion. The highlight of her career was working for her sister, Angela at Franchini Design, NYC. She enjoyed traveling the world sharing stories of exotic and common place occurrences. Everyone will remember her as a great storyteller, and being an unselfish, bright, and beautiful woman with a great sense of humor and spirited laugh. She was the loving caretaker and matriarch of the family.
She is survived by three nephews and their families: Douglas Allbach and wife Debra, their daughters Amy Samford and husband Scott and their children, Martin and Jack Samford; Audrey Kershen and husband Dan, son Jace Kerchen; Ronald Allbach and wife Karen, son Alex Allbach; and Dr. Thomas Franchini and wife Carrie, son Leonardo Franchini. She also leaves her dearest friends: Carmen Suarez, Martha Nunez, and Gladys Ramos.
Visitation is Friday, October 9, 2020 from 8:45 AM to 9:30 AM at Riotto Funeral Home, 3205 Kennedy Blvd., Jersey City. Funeral mass is at 10:00 AM at St. Aedan's Church, Jersey City. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, N. Arlington.
