Rose (Bellini) Mercante

Rose Mercante (Nee Bellini), 105, of Jersey City, passed away on Monday, November 28, 2022. 

Rose grew up in the Greenville section of Jersey City with her 4 brothers before marrying. After her marriage to Tom, she moved to Wallis Avenue in the Marion Section of Jersey City. Rose worked at the Dickinson High School Cafeteria. She helped start the 50 Plus Club way back when and was very active planning all their activities & trips. She was a member of the Rosarians and worked for many years at the Mt. Carmel Feast. In 2001 she received a Senior of the Year Award from the mayor of Jersey City. Rose loved to read and cook. 

Rose was predeceased by her beloved husband of 40 years, Thomas Mercante. She was also predeceased by her dear son John Mercante. Surviving are her loving children, Thomas Mercante and his wife Rosemarie, and Dennis Mercante. Her cherished grandchild, John Thomas, and many loving nieces and nephews. 

Visitation is Saturday, December 3, 2022, from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the funeral home. A funeral mass will be held 11:30 AM at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Jersey City.
