Rosemary Johnston, 78, a lifelong resident of Jersey City passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on March 8, 2020.
Rosemary was a paraprofessional with the hearing impaired for 30 years at P.S. 27 Alfred Zampella School, Jersey City. She organized oldies shows with her brother Angelo and Sister Alberta at St. Anne’s Church, Jersey City with groups such as: Johnny Maestro & the Brooklyn Bridge, Larry Chance, The Dupree’s and Vito Picone & the Elegants. Rosemary also loved to cook for the P.S 27 School faculty making special dishes.
Rosemary was very devoted to her family and loved her children and grandchildren.
Rosemary was the beloved wife of 47 years to Edwin Johnston, Sr.; devoted mother of Vincent Faccone, Edwin & Tara Johnston; loving grandmother of William Dietsche, Anthony Johnston and Amanda Johnston; dear sister of Joan Zielinski, Helen Willis, Angelo Stracquatanio and the late Margaret Finlay.
Visitation is on Thursday, March 12, 2020, 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at RIOTTO FUNERAL HOME, 3205 John F. Kennedy Blvd., Jersey City, NJ 07306. Funeral will begin on Friday, March 13, 2020, 9:00 AM at the funeral home. Funeral Mass will follow 10:00 AM at St. Anne's Church, Jersey City. Interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
