Safia Canady

Safia P. Canady was the eldest of two children born to Starene Y. Canady and David Yorker on August 21, 1982.

Better known to most of her family and friends as "Fia". She was born and raised in Jersey City, NJ. She received her diploma at James J. Ferris high school and also briefly attended Hudson County Community College.

During her employment career, Safia worked as a Transportation Security Officer for sixteen years at Newark Liberty International Airport. Safia was well loved and respected by everyone who knew her. After her sixteen years of employment with TSA, she decided to become an entrepreneur. She launched her own business and named it, "Second to None Dispatch and Logistics". Safia served clients throughout the United States with her knowledge of dispatching, negotiating, and customer service skills within the trucking community. In a matter of months, Safia's business became very successful and lucrative.

Safia was a devoted mother, daughter, granddaughter, sister and friend. Safia loved to spend time with her daughter, Paige Madison Jeter. She also enjoyed hanging out with her mother and grandmother whom she affectionately called Nana. She absolutely loved cooking and trying new recipes. Her favorite was Italian. Safia lived a joyous fulfilling life. Her friendly funny disposition and outgoing personality endeared her to the hearts of those who knew her. Safia was truly one of a kind and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

On Wednesday, March 8, 2023, Safia slipped away to join our Heavenly Father. Safia is preceded in death by her great grandparents, Robert and Lily Canady ,George and Margaret Jackson, grandfather George Jackson Jr., aunts ,Lashanga Jackson and Venus Canady.

Safia leaves to cherish her precious memories: her loving and devoted mother, Starene Y. Canady, her nana Darlene Canady, daughter, Paige Madison Jeter, brother Assad G. Williams, Randall Murphy, sisters: Avryel A. Browne, Kerin Lewis, Allison Murphy, Latasha Murphy, Melinda  Murphy, uncles: Darreld Canady, Harry Jackson III, Tireem Kitchens, Rashon Douier, grandmother Maxine Johnson aunts: Precious Bouier, Dollbaby Bouier, Veronica Stradley great aunts: Denise Nesbitt, Starlett Canady , Davene Dubois.

Visitation will be Saturday, March 18, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Riotto Funeral Home and Cremation Company, 3205 John F. Kennedy Blvd, Jersey City, NJ, 07306 (For GPS it is best to use the address of our parking lot: 14 Stagg St., Jersey City). In lieu of flowers, family will like all donations to go to her daughter Paige $Jeter179 .
