OBITUARY – STANLEY BEADLE
Stanley Beadle was born in Black River, Jamaica, W.I. on October 2nd , 1929 to parents Lena and Llewelyn Beadle. He departed this earthly life on Monday, May 5th, 2025 at the glorious age of 95.
Early Life:
Mr. Beadle (his preferred salutation), lived a life of passion and adventure. In his youth and early adulthood, he was a farmer, musician, motorcycle rider and most of all, a prize fighter. Till his last days, he never tired of telling stories about being a boxer; always filled with animated demonstrations of jabs and uppercuts. After losing his mother in his early 20’s, he made the decision to leave the family farm and move to the big city of Kingston to make his way in the world. Upon arrival, he struggled greatly at first, but ultimately landed a job with the phone company, where he worked for 20 years. It was during this time he met and married the love of his life, Ermine Louise Clarke (Lou).
Coming to America:
In 1970, Stanley made the faithful decision to migrate to America. He wanted to provide greater opportunities for Lou and his children and also to support family and friends left back home. Stanley arrived first, working tireless at several menial jobs, including a doll factory. The excessive working took a serious toll on his health; but in doing so, he was able to bring his family to America within a year. He eventually settled in that American mecca, Hoboken, New Jersey. Shortly after, he successfully landed a job with the American phone company, AT&T, where he remained for the next 20 years. Stanley epitomized the phrase strong work ethic. With one exception, due to an injury on the job, he never missed a day of work and was never late. Although his job was primarily a phone technician, he dressed for work every day as if going to the corporate headquarters. Shoes were always polished shine, shirts starched and pressed and pants seamed to perfection. Most importantly, he was never a man to leave home without a sufficient enhancement of cologne. In fact, his favorite bottle of cologne will be laid to rest with him.
Most Remembered For:
Stanley had a big personality; he loved laughter above all and was a skillful storyteller. Although there were some tall tales woven in between, he always entertained. His greatest passion was simply talking to people; family, friends and even total strangers. No trip to the supermarket was ever complete without starting conversations with nearly every person passing him in the aisles. Another passion was a love of “good food”, which he enjoyed sharing. Anyone visiting his home would always be greeted with the offer of an abundant meal. While not strongly affiliated with a formal religion or church, Stanley firmly believed in the power of God and prayer. He often spoke of how God carried him through many tough times and attributed all his success in life to protection from above.
Legacy:
The one phrase Stanley was well known for saying often is “all I have is my family”. Stanley leaves to celebrate his life a loving and devoted wife, Ermine (Lou) Beadle.
