Stella Magliano, 89, of Jersey City, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at home on June 25, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on February 23, 1936, in Paolisi, Benevento, Italy, Stella was the cherished daughter of the late Giovanni and Filomena Bove. She spent her early years in Paolisi before immigrating with her husband and children to the United States, where she made a lifelong home in Jersey City, New Jersey.
Stella was the beloved wife of the late Sebastiano Magliano, with whom she shared 48 years of devoted marriage. Together, they built a warm and welcoming home rooted in faith, family, and tradition.
She is survived by her loving children: Peter and his wife Maria, Domenico and his wife Jackie, and Josephine and her husband Joe Vaccarella. Stella was a proud and devoted grandmother to Mariestelle and her boyfriend Jaime, Peter and his wife Joann, Matthew and his wife Cassie, Gregory and his wife Andrea, and Paul. Her legacy continues through her adored great-grandchildren: Sebastian, Eleanor, Giavanna, Rose, Joseph, and Lia Stella.
Stella is also survived by her dear brother Francesco Bove and his wife Caterina, and her sister Alfonsina Tirone, who reside in Italy, as well as many cherished nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends near and far.
She was predeceased by her brothers-in-law Luigi Magliano and his wife Maria, and Vincenzo Tirone.
A woman of deep Catholic faith, Stella was also a talented and dedicated seamstress who found great joy in the simple, beautiful rhythms of daily life. She loved to garden, crochet, and knit, and took pride in keeping her home and garden tidy and flourishing. Her hands were seldom still, and her heart overflowed with love, whether tending a garden, crafting with care, or embracing a grandchild.
Stella will be remembered for her gentle strength, her devotion to her family, and the quiet elegance with which she lived her life. She will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts. Her absence is deeply felt, but her memory remains a source of comfort and love for all who know her.
