Stavros “Steve” Dionyssiou, 67, of Jersey City, New Jersey, passed away on April 30, 2026 surrounded by his loving family.
Born on September 20, 1958 in Volos, Greece, Steve lived his life with strength and resilience in the face of lifelong challenges. He was known for his kind heart and gentle spirit, bringing warmth to those around him and finding joy in life’s simple pleasures. Among his happiest times were those spent on the island of Skopelos, Greece, where he loved visiting with family and enjoying the beach.
Steve’s love for his family was at the center of his life. He is predeceased by his beloved father, Nikolas Dionyssiou, and shared a close bond with his mother, whose lifelong, unwavering care and dedication provided him with constant comfort and support.
Steve is survived by his devoted mother, Ourania Dionyssiou (née Georgiadis); sister, Maria; brother and sister-in-law, John and Vasilia Dionyssiou; brother and sister-in-law, George and Nicole Dionyssiou (née DiBello); niece, Ourania Dennis-Favre; nephews, Nicholas and Zachary Dionyssiou; three great-nephews, Gianni, Epaminondas and Stylianos; and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Steve will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his kindness, perseverance, and the love he shared with his family.
Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, May 4, 2026, 12:00 p.m. at Ascension Greek Orthodox Church, 101 Anderson Ave, Fairview, NJ 07022. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, 500 Fairview Ave, Fairview, NJ 07022.
