Steven McDonald, lovingly known as Mr. Mac, passed away on December 23, 2025, at his home in Jersey City, New Jersey, at the age of 70. Born on December 2, 1955, in Jersey City, Steven was a lifelong resident whose deep roots and lasting connections shaped the man he became and the life he lived.
Steven was the beloved husband of Sharon Krapf McDonald, a devoted father to Justin McDonald, and a cherished uncle to Terrence Glover. Family meant everything to Steven. He was a constant presence, a source of support, laughter, and unconditional love, and someone his family could always count on.
He was predeceased by his parents, Marion and Doris McDonald, his brother Marion McDonald III, and his sister Linda Glover, all of whom held a special place in his heart.
Steven spent his entire life in Jersey City, a community he knew well and cared deeply about. He was the kind of person who made connections wherever he went, whether through a shared laugh, a story told just right, or simply showing genuine interest in the people around him.
Those who knew Steven will remember him as a wonderful, loving, and caring family man with a great sense of humor. He had a natural way of making people laugh and was well known for the stories he told, always delivered with perfect timing and plenty of charm. His laughter was contagious, and his presence brought comfort and familiarity to those around him.
Steven enjoyed watching his favorite sports teams and spending quality time with his family. One of his favorite pastimes was heading down to Metro Field to see who was playing and catch a few innings. It was something simple, but it brought him genuine joy and reflected his appreciation for everyday moments.
Family and friends are invited to honor Steven’s life on Monday, December 29, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Riotto Funeral Home, 3205 John F Kennedy Blvd, Jersey City, NJ 07306 (For GPS purposes, please use our parking lot address: 14 Stagg Street, Jersey City, New Jersey 07306.)
The family would like to sincerely thank everyone for the comforting messages, phone calls, and many expressions of kindness. Your support during this difficult time has been truly appreciated.
Forever in our hearts. The memories of you will be our greatest treasure.
