Zefe Gikas

Zefe Gikas, of Clifton, New Jersey, and a longtime resident of Jersey City, passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born on June 9, 1943, in Galatas, Greece, Zefe eventually made her home in New Jersey, where she built a beautiful life centered around her family.

Zefe was reunited with her beloved late husband, Nikolaos. She was the devoted mother of John Gikas and Thalia Gikas; loving mother-in-law of Kathy Gikas; and cherished grandmother of Anastasia and Nicolette.

Zefe was known for her artistic talent and creativity, particularly her skill and passion for designing clothing. Above all, she will be remembered as a wonderful mother and grandmother whose love and devotion to her family will remain in their hearts forever.

Visitation will be on Thursday, September 17, 2026, 5pm-9pm, Trisagion Service 7pm at RIOTTO FUNERAL HOME & Cremation Company, 3205 John F. Kennedy Blvd., Jersey City, NJ 07306. (For GPS Navigation, it is best to use our parking lot address: 14 Stagg Street), Funeral Mass is on Friday September 18, 2026, 10am at Evangelismos Greek Orthodox Church, 661 Montgomery St., Jersey City.  Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, N. Arlington.
