Edwin Rodriguez

Edwin Rodriguez, 66, of Union City, succumbed to a heart attack at Christ Hospital on December 10, 2016, surrounded by his loving family.

Edwin is survived by his wife Elsa of 28 years, a daughter: Claudia Delgado. His sons: Edwin Rodriguez Jr and Eddie Rodriguez; and many loving grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family. He was a loving father, husband, brother, uncle, cousin, grandfather and friend to all.

Edwin enjoyed watching many different kinds of movies, especially, sci-fi, fantasy and horror movies. He was so happy when he finally saw his all-time favorite superhero, Dr. Strange, on the big screen. He loved carpentry and went above and beyond to help others with his skills. He counseled the troubled, comforted the hurting, and gave strength to the weak.

There are not enough words to describe the kind of person Edwin was, the work he has done for others, or the support he has shown. The one thing that can be universally agreed upon is that his love was boundless. He never stopped giving himself to the world by showing love and care for others, especially Angel Sierra and Aida Villaman. He only wanted one thing, and that was to smile with everyone he met. His joy and positivity for life was infectious, and he knew that it would touch the world.

Edwin would want us to remember the love he shared and give it back to the world. He would want us to remember the good times we spent with him. Most of all, he would want us to, in his memory, give love and generosity back to others in this world.

Visiting hours for Edwin will be on Monday, December 12, 2016, 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the funeral home. Cremation will be private.
