Tito Torres

Tito Torres, 80, a long time professional wrestler and resident of Jersey City passed away on Friday, April 21, 2017.  He was born Benito Torres in Cayey, Puerto Rico and moved to Jersey City in 1953.  Tito's career spanned 40 years starting at the World Wrestling Federation. 

Tito founded All American Wrestling and loved training young wrestlers and promoting events throughout NJ and NY.  Diamond Dallas Page a renowned professional wrestler mentions Tito as one of his trainers in his book.

Tito was a manager for 20 years at Dixon Mills Co., Jersey City.  Tito enjoyed dancing cumbia, exercising, family celebrations and playing with his grandchildren.

Tito was the beloved husband of 48 years to Lydia Torres: Devoted father of Awilda Manzo, Benito Torres, Jr., Vilma Torres, Eva Guzman, Ruben Torres and Aileen Torres; Dear brother of George Torres.  Also survived by 11 loving grandchildren and 3 cherished great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Sunday, April 23, 2017, 3:00pm to 7:00pm at RIOTTO FUNERAL HOME & Cremation Company, 3205 John F. Kennedy Blvd., Jersey City, NJ 07306.  Everyone will meet for a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, April 24, 2017, 10:00am at St. Nicholas Church, Jersey City.  Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
